We are proud to say that there are indeed marriages that are worth raising our glasses to. They are marriages that have survived the unpredictable world of showbiz.
A few celebrity couples whose marriages have tarried and are still so much on fire. Take a look, you’ll be amazed. OLU JACOBS AND JOKE SILVA: One of the marriages of entertainment personalities that have become enviable in Nigeria today is sure that of Olu Jacob and his wife Joke Silva. Olu Jacobs, a veteran actor and his wife, also an actress of repute, have a large followership and have been able to build a nearly perfect union that is worthy of emulation because the union, unlike some, has been scandal free and very wonderful. The marriage, however, may have passed through test of time; it has been in place for well over TWENTY FIVE YEARS years with children.
PATRICK AND IRETI DOYLE
Patrick
was once married before his wife passed on. He later got hooked to Ireti, whom
many refer to as a talented actress. They dated for a while and both got
married. The couple is blessed with six children, four from Pat's earlier
marriage and they confessed to Spectator that love and tolerance have been the
backbone of the union. Despite the glamour and stardom, they are still very
much down to earth and committed to each other. They have BEEN MARRIED 17 YEARS
CHARLES AND DIANE OPUTA
CHARLES AND DIANE OPUTA: The
weird duo. Charly Boy and Lady Di, like they are widely known, met in America.
CB had gone to a salon (Dany) where Diane used to work to have a treat and
immediately he set eyes on the black American, his system was completely
disorganized. To break down her defense, he lied to her that he would invite
her his birthday a party.
True to his promise, and with the co-operation of Diane’s boss, he sent a Limousine to bring her to the party venue – which turned out to be his house. Mesmerized and dazzled, Lady Di had no choice than to cave in. They eventually formalized their union in a registry in Owerri, Imo State and have been having a blast ever since. Blessed with four children, Diane was born in South Carolina, USA and CB, Oguta, Imo State. She studied Men’s Tailoring while he read Mass Communication.

OMOTOLA AND
CAPTAIN MATHEW
This marriage is the contemporary version of that of Olu and Joke Jacob. They have been together for about 15 years and still waxing stronger. Omotola got married to pilot husband, Captain Matthew at the tender age of 18 on a plane and the marriage has been in flying colours ever since. Capt. Matthew is not an actor, but one thing he has going for him is his looks and charm. We can authoritatively report that the handsome dude is more popular than his showbiz wife in their neighborhood. Aside love, maturity and compromise are the reasons Omotola gave for the union today. Despite over a decade of being married, they both still show affections to each other as 18-years-olds do.

SONI
AND BETTY IRABOR
For as long as this media
couple lives, they will always remember the Elegant Stallion, OnyekaOnwenu. And
this is why: Betty, then a greenhorn, had attended her first ever assignment in
July 1982 – Onyeka’s debut album launch, where incidentally both them met. And
a relationship was ignited, followed by marriage. An English and Philosophy
graduate of the University of Lagos, Betty, 54, currently publishes Genevieve.
Blessed with two children (Sonia and Omoruyi), her better half, Soni, is a
veteran broadcaster, but engages more in media consultancy now. Their marriage
is now 34 years.
TUNDE AND WUNMI
OBE
If there is a family that should have overdose pressure due to their celebrity status, it should be the family of Tunde and WunmiObe. This is simply because they belong to two constituencies-they sing and act. And to make matters worse, Tunde appears on TV alongside Charly Boy to present Zoom Time. Tunde once told us of how a set of beauty beefy stormed his hotel room when he had an assignment outside Lagos. He had to run away and call his wife. Such were the temptations the father of four. The couple is still together and Wunmi, who took part in AmakaIgwe's soap recently, has had her own fair share of challenges, but they have chosen the path of 'no divorce'.
ISAAC AND NNEKA MOSES: The Goge Africa presenters. Nneka and Isaac have a sweet love story. In Love in Vendetta, a movie they took part in in, 1996, they undertook the roles of husband and wife. And having executed it with so much ease and also ascertaining that they could become one just like they did in the movie, they decided to do in real life, after a one year courtship.Always together, the Anambra indigenes who the Almighty God will soon bless with their first child – after over ten years of marriage – surely have an interesting and at the same time intriguing story. Their wedding was on October25, 1997.THEY HAVE BEEN MARRIED 20 YEARS
